Sonoka is originally from Japan and arrived in Hobart as an exchange student.She obtained her Bachelor of Music and Graduate Diploma of Music at the University of Tasmania under the tutelage of Beryl Sedivka.As a soloist and chamber musician, she has since appeared in many concerts throughout Victoria, New South Wales, Tasmania and Japan. Her performances have been recorded and broadcasted by ABC Classic FM and 3MBS.Sonoka has a wide range of musical interests that have influenced her work in a variety of roles, places and collaborations with many wonderful musicians during her career.

Stewart first began his musical journey on the trumpet, at age seven. His love for music continued to grow, upon joining the Geelong City Brass Band, where he would play for thirteen years. While attending Christian College, Stewart was encouraged to begin playing the trombone at age fourteen. During this time his musical development continued to be nurtured through the school band program. In 2003, Stewart began his Bachelor of Music at the University of Melbourne. At this time, Stewart was the Principal trombonist of the Melbourne University Symphony Orchestra and the University’s Stage Band. He also attended and performed in Master Classes with Christian Lingburg and Joe Alessi. Following his Bachelor degree, Stewart completed a Masters of Music Performance, also at Melbourne University, under the tutorage of Michael Bertoncello. In 2008, Stewart was the Principal trombonist with the Australian Youth Orchestra. In the same year, he attended Orchestral Career Development and a fellowship with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra. He was also involved with the Young Australian Concert Artists. As a musician, Stewart has performed in various ensembles including the Sydney Sinfonia, the Royal Melbourne Philharmonic Orchestra, the Victorian Youth Opera Company, and the Melbourne Opera Company. He has also performed as a casual musician with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and Australian Philharmonic Orchestra. Stewart’s passion and love for music is continued to be enjoyed by others. In particular, through regular recitals as well as singing and performing at weddings and other special events.
