Guitar level 1

Accidentals

Accidentals are sharps (#) and flats(b) which appear in the piece.

A sharp (#) raises a note 1 semitone. On a guitar this means, play 1 frett higher (to the right).

A flat (b) lowers the note 1 semitone, and this is played 1 frett lower (to the left).

Accidentals only apply in the bar in which they appear.

The natural sign (see bar 2, last note) cancels any sharps or flats that follow in the same bar.
