2. Teachers will be employed in one of the following modes:

instrument, and may carry out administrative work. The teacher is contracted
exclusively to bach2roq, and must process all students through bach2roq.
Teacher will have use of the bach2roq studios
without charge, subject to availability. Teacher may teach in schools as arranged by
bach2roq, and are covered with public liability Teacher is paid 65% of student fees. |
Remuneration is based on teacher
qualifications, age and teaching experience. Teacher paid 65% of teaching fee. Teachers may attend optional bach2roq update
courses on any aspect of music teaching, which are held monthly. See below
for a list of services offered to teachers by bach2roq. |

Exclusive sub-contractor |
The teacher operates their teaching as their own
business. Bach2roq collects all fees from students. Teachers must process all students through
bach2roq. Teachers send invoices to bach2roq after teaching is carried out
(this may be at a frequency of the teachers choosing), including an ABN and
GST for the teaching carried out. Payments are made only after the teaching
is carried out and the student has paid. Teachers are not to teach the
student unless the fees are paid at least one week in advance. Public liability is the responsibility of the
teacher, and is not provided by bach2roq. Teachers are not able to teach in bach2roq studios
or schools without providing public liability cover. |

structure, which is to be notified to bach2roq 4 weeks end of the term
previous. Teacher may invoice 80% of teaching fee. Teachers send invoices to bach2roq after teaching is
carried out (this may be at a frequency of the teachers choosing), including
an ABN and GST for the teaching carried out. Payments are made only after the
teaching is carried out and the student has paid. Teachers are not to teach
the student unless the fees are paid at least one week in advance. Teachers may attend optional bach2roq update

Referral sub-contractor |
Students referred by bach2roq to
teacher. Teacher gets 100% of student fees. |
The teacher manages their own
business, and negotiates this directly with the student. The teacher pays a one-off establishment fee to
bach2Roq of $100 to have their contact details placed on the bach2roq
website. This covers the first term of operation. Each subsequent term will
cost $25. This is effectively a way of advertising for the teacher. In our
experience we get about 1500 enquiries per year, which are referred to the
website. Teachers may attend optional bach2roq update
courses on any aspect of music teaching, which are held monthly. See below
for a list of services offered to teachers by bach2roq. |

Requirements of teachers
·
must be studying at least grade 5 (AMEB or equivalent)
standard in their main instrument
·
should possess demonstrable abilities in some of the
following :
·
aural perception of music,
·
improvisation,
·
group music experience,
·
abilities on several instruments (including voice),
·
music theory (not necessarily formal),
·
computers in music
·
must have suitable personality and temperament for working
with people in a professional capacity
·
must have an email address and internet access and check it
daily
·
should attend regular monthly teachers meetings
·
Interviews
All new teacher applicants will be
required to attend an interview of approximately 30 minutes at which it will be
expected that the applicant will
·
perform two contrasting pieces of music, one classical and
one in a modern style, to at least grade 5 standard
·
demonstrate abilities in some other areas of music
·
bring a brief CV, including at least 2 references and any
qualifications
